Jenny’s Light, a charity that is helping moms

As mothers, we know how hard it can be, how overwhelming, and how scary. A time that should be the greatest joy of your life can sometimes become very hard, even debilitating. We have come to know a charity that focuses on improving and saving lives by increasing awareness of all perinatal mood disorders, including postpartum depression (PPD).  Jenny’s Light was started after a mom here in Birmingham took the life of her infant son and then her own life. Jenny was a woman that we all know- kind, smart, and loving. PPD can take hold of anyone, even the people who seem to have it all together.

BirminghamMommy.com is proud to partner with Jenny’s Light and to spread their message into our mommy community. There is no better way to let moms who are suffering know that there is help than by talking about PPD.

We would love for you to read Jenny’s story, and consider getting involved.  Specifically, there is the 4th Annual Jenny’s Light Golf Tournament coming up this weekend that needs players and donations. Think ahead to Father’s Day. If your husband/father/brother plays golf, what a great gift to give them that will give back in a great way!
